You should do what any good pirate should do when he's not quite sure what's going on, where he is, or even what his name is: Find a tavern and start drinking grog.

Go pillage a village. See what people yell when they see you. No, wait, that means you'd be famous...

You best make your pirate crew shout your name in a rallying cry so that you remember it. Then write it down and keep it somewhere so you don't forget again.
